Jammu, May 5: The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Jammu & Kashmir, Divisional Office Jammu, in collaboration with CIET–NCERT, on Tuesday organised an online orientation programme on AI-enabled features and Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL) courses available on the DIKSHA platform.
The orientation programme aimed to build the capacity of DIET faculty members, who will further conduct district-level trainings to promote effective use of DIKSHA among teachers, school heads, and students across the Union Territory.
The event was held under the leadership of Director School Education Jammu and Director SCERT J&K Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, and under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT Jammu Division.
The programme witnessed active participation from all 20 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) of Jammu & Kashmir, along with teams from both SCERT Divisional Offices, reflecting a strong commitment towards technology-driven education.
The session began with a welcome address by DIKSHA Coordinator SCERT Jammu, Vivek Jandial, who outlined the objectives of the programme and emphasized the need for wider adoption of the DIKSHA platform across the education system.
In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor described the initiative as a significant step towards integrating emerging technologies in education. She highlighted DIKSHA as a key platform aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting competency-based and learner-centric education through AI-enabled tools and PAL courses. She urged DIETs and stakeholders to adopt a proactive approach for effective implementation.
The session also featured expert addresses by Prof. Indu Kumar and Dr. Rejaul Karim, National DIKSHA Coordinators, who highlighted the platform’s transformative role and ongoing national initiatives in digital education.
Technical sessions were conducted by DIKSHA PMU team members Abhinay Pratap Singh and Ankit Asthana, who demonstrated AI-powered features including Ask DIKSHA (Chat with Books), AI-based video keyword search, Read Aloud, translation tools, and navigation of courses and PAL modules.
The programme also saw participation from the Kashmir Division, coordinated by DIKSHA Coordinator Dr. Amarpreet Kour, ensuring UT-wide engagement.
The event was supported by SCERT Jammu team members Reeta Charak, Dr. Bhuvi, Dr. Seema, Arsh Kour, and Roopse Kapoor, whose efforts contributed to its smooth conduct.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to CIET–NCERT resource persons, coordinators, and participants for their active involvement and collaboration.
