Kishtwar/Doda, July 20: At least two persons were killed and several others injured after shooting stones and debris hit a passenger bus and other vehicles at Raggi Nallah on the Jammu–Kishtwar National Highway (NH-244) in Doda district.
The incident took place amid heavy mudslides and continuous shooting stones in the area, creating a dangerous situation for vehicles travelling on the highway.
Following the incident, the Jammu–Kishtwar National Highway has been closed for vehicular traffic. The authorities are carrying out assessment and restoration work, but due to ongoing mudslides and shooting stones, the reopening of the highway is expected to take considerable time.
Rescue and relief operations are underway, while further details regarding the identity of the deceased and injured persons are awaited.
