Srinagar, May 5: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday chaired a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat to review the status of implementation of Budget announcements for 2026–27, directing officials to ensure time-bound execution of key initiatives and welfare measures across Jammu & Kashmir.

Emphasizing the need to translate Budget commitments into tangible outcomes on the ground, the Chief Minister stressed efficiency, transparency, and accountability in delivering public services. He called for stronger coordination among departments to fast-track progress and remove bottlenecks hindering implementation.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Ministers Sakina Itoo, Javed Rana, Javid Dar, and Satish Sharma, along with Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, and other senior officials.

At the outset, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Shailendra Kumar presented a detailed overview of the status of various Budget announcements across departments. Administrative Secretaries also briefed the Chief Minister on progress achieved and actions taken within their respective domains.

Key departments reviewed during the meeting included General Administration, Planning, Development & Monitoring, Power Development, School Education, Finance, Agriculture Production, Public Works, Jal Shakti, Housing & Urban Development, and other crucial sectors.

During the deliberations, the Chief Minister issued clear directions to expedite implementation, ensure strict adherence to timelines, and prioritize equitable development across all regions. He emphasized that funds and resources must be allocated fairly to achieve balanced growth throughout the Union Territory.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to good governance and development, Omar Abdullah directed all departments to closely monitor progress and ensure that the benefits of Budget provisions reach the people without delay.
