DC Indu Kanwal Chib reviews VVP-II proposals, stresses sustainable planning and coordinated execution for development of border villages in Bandipora

Bandipora, May 5: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Level Screening Committee to review and finalize departmental proposals under the Vibrant Village Programme-II (VVP-II) for identified border villages in the district.

During the meeting, multiple departments presented their action plans for approval under VVP-II, focusing on key sectors such as infrastructure development, renewable energy, education, healthcare, disaster management, skill development, public utilities, and livelihood generation.

Detailed deliberations were held on proposals aimed at strengthening educational institutions, improving healthcare facilities, enhancing rural infrastructure, ensuring reliable power supply, promoting water conservation, boosting tourism, and creating employment opportunities in remote border areas.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for practical, sustainable, and community-centric project planning. She directed departments to ensure proper convergence of schemes, avoid duplication of works, and prioritize initiatives that deliver direct benefits to the local population.

Highlighting the importance of coordinated implementation, Indu Kanwal Chib called for stronger inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth and timely execution of approved projects under the programme.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, Assistant Commissioner Development Bandipora, officers from various line departments, and other concerned officials.
