Srinagar, March 27 : A delegation of Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), led by its patron Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, met the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Fathali, and other officials in New Delhi on Thursday.
The delegation included Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, Aga Syed Hassan Al-Mosvi, Aga Syed Hadi Al-Mosvi, and Aga Syed Mujtaba.
During the meeting, the delegation conveyed heartfelt condolences over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his family members, and other leaders, and expressed deep solidarity with the people of Iran during this period of conflict and hardship.
On behalf of the people of Kashmir, the delegation said the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, a prominent and respected leader of the Muslim Ummah, has deeply saddened them.
They also expressed serious concern over the ongoing conflict, condemning the war imposed on Iran by Israel and the United States, and hoped that diplomatic efforts would prevail to end the aggression and restore peace and stability.
The delegation highlighted the deep-rooted cultural, historical, and religious ties between Kashmir and Iran, noting that Kashmir has long been referred to as “Iran-e-Sagheer” (Little Iran), reflecting the enduring bond between the two regions.
MMU reiterated that unity, steadfastness, and collective prayers for peace are essential for the Ummah to face the current challenges. (Agency)
