Doda, May 23, 2026: In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Doda Police attached illegally acquired property worth approximately ₹13 lakh belonging to notorious drug peddler Yasir Ahmed Shah alias “Thopa”, son of Abdul Majeed Shah, a resident of Sadeqabad, Doda.

The action was carried out in the Sadeqabad area as part of intensified efforts by district police to dismantle drug networks and target the financial infrastructure of narcotics traffickers.
According to police, the property was identified as having been acquired through proceeds generated from illegal narcotics activities and was consequently attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985. The accused is involved in FIR No. 86/2026 registered at Police Station Doda under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of ASP Doda Mohd Aslam and SHO Police Station Doda Tariq Ahmed along with other officers and officials of Doda Police. Authorities stated that the attachment proceedings were executed after completion of all legal formalities under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
Police said Yasir Shah alias “Thopa” is already in custody in connection with the case. During the course of investigation, credible evidence reportedly emerged indicating his involvement in narcotics trafficking and the accumulation of assets through illegal earnings generated from the drug trade.
Officials stated that targeting the economic backbone of drug traffickers remains one of the most effective methods to combat the growing drug menace. They reiterated that individuals involved in narcotics-related activities would not only face arrest and prosecution but would also risk attachment and confiscation of illegally acquired assets.
Doda Police further highlighted that sustained anti-drug operations, including naka checking, raids, awareness programmes, preventive measures and community outreach activities, are being carried out across the district.
Appealing for public cooperation, police urged citizens to share information regarding drug trafficking or suspicious activities, assuring that the identity of informants would remain strictly confidential.
Police officials reaffirmed their commitment towards making Doda drug-free and stated that strict action against those involved in the narcotics trade will continue in the coming days with greater intensity.
