JAMMU, September 26, 2026: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh presented the ‘Aarogya Shikhar Samman’ awards to distinguished medical professionals at a ceremony organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Chapter of the International Medical Sciences Academy (IMSA) in Jammu on Saturday.
The 1st Aarogya Shikhar Samman – Medical Investiture Ceremony recognised senior doctors for their contributions and years of service in the medical field. Among those felicitated were former heads of departments and senior medical professionals from Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, along with other healthcare experts.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Jitendra Singh spoke about the growing role of artificial intelligence, genomics, precision medicine, biotechnology and other emerging technologies in healthcare. He stressed that technological advances should complement, rather than replace, clinical judgement and patient-focused medical care.
The Union Minister also encouraged medical and scientific institutions in Jammu and Kashmir to participate more actively in emerging areas of research and innovation.
