NEW DELHI, September 26, 2026: Virat Kohli has revealed that the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa will be his final World Cup appearance for India, saying the chance to make one last push for the coveted 50-over trophy is a major motivation for him.
Speaking ahead of India’s ODI series against the West Indies, Kohli highlighted the demanding nature of a 50-over World Cup and said his focus will be on giving everything he has during the tournament.
Kohli said the 2027 World Cup being his final campaign for India is itself a source of motivation, adding that his goal is to win the World Cup and leave everything on the field.
The 2027 tournament will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with India beginning their preparations more than a year before the global event. India’s ODI squad currently includes Kohli and Rohit Sharma as the team builds towards the tournament
