Jammu: Delhi Police Crime Branch on Saturday has busted a major international illegal arms racket linked to Pakistan’s ISI, arresting four individuals – Mandeep from Phillaur, Dalwinder from Ludhiana, Rohan Tomar from Baghpat, and Ajay alias Monu – who were supplying high-end Chinese and Turkish pistols to notorious gangsters in Delhi NCR and surrounding states, including those associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha, and Gogi Himanshu Bhai.
The weapons, smuggled into India via Punjab using drones, were intended for distribution to gang members in the national capital region.
The officials inform the various media outlets that during initial arrests on November 19, Mandeep and Dalwinder were apprehended while en route to deliver the weapons in Rohini, Delhi. Following interrogations, raids were conducted which led to the recovery of additional firearms.
A total of ten sophisticated pistols were seized, five of them made in Turkey and three in China, along with live ammunition. Police confirmed that the remaining weapons were recovered during follow-up searches.
Delhi and the NCR have been on heightened alert since the Red Fort car blast on November 10, which killed 14 people and injured over 20. Authorities continue to investigate potential links between the illegal arms network and recent terrorist activities.
CP Crime Surender Kumar stated, “Delhi Police Crime Branch team has busted an arms gang being operated by Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. Total four people have been arrested and 10 sophisticated pistols have been recovered.”
The case underscores the growing threat of cross-border arms smuggling and the involvement of transnational networks in supplying weapons to organized crime gangs in India.
