JAMMU: Police have arrested three persons in Jammu in connection with an alleged counterfeit currency printing and circulation case, officials said. The arrests come amid continued police action against fake currency networks in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to police sources, the investigation is focused on identifying the source of the counterfeit notes, the equipment allegedly used for printing them and whether other people were involved in the network.
Authorities are also examining the circulation of the suspected fake currency and gathering further evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
Counterfeit currency cases have previously been reported in Jammu and Kashmir, including a Shopian case in March 2026 in which three accused were arrested and fake notes worth ₹79,000 were recovered.
