Jammu, May 3: In a significant development for the remote Padder Nagsani region of Jammu and Kashmir, a long-pending demand for road connectivity to Pullar village has been approved.
According to a press release issued by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the vehicle road has been sanctioned following the intervention of Leader of Opposition, Sunil Sharma.
Pullar village, located in difficult mountainous terrain, has remained cut off for decades, with residents relying on long and hazardous treks for basic needs. Locals have long been forced to carry patients, essential supplies, and even children on foot due to the absence of motorable access.
The BJP stated that the issue gained momentum after Sunil Sharma visited the area and interacted with residents, who highlighted the hardships faced by the community, particularly by the elderly, pregnant women, and school-going children.
Calling the move a “historic step,” BJP Kishtwar Chief Spokesperson Jatinder Sharma said the road would improve access to healthcare, education, and markets, and significantly enhance the quality of life for residents.
He added that the project reflects a broader commitment to extending development to remote and underserved areas.
Residents of Pullar and adjoining areas have welcomed the decision and expressed hope that the road will bring long-awaited relief and connectivity to the region.
