According to the official order issued by District Magistrate Krishan Lal (JKAS), authorities have observed that certain groups are planning demonstrations and attempting to mobilize gatherings without permission. The administration has expressed concern that such unauthorized assemblies could lead to untoward incidents, potentially disturbing public peace and safety.

The order prohibits any gathering of five or more persons and the organization of protests in public places, including Clock Tower Chowk, the road leading to the Sports Stadium, areas up to Akramabad, Dessa Road, and from Clock Tower to the Old Bus Stand. Restrictions also extend within a 100-meter radius of the JK Sports Stadium Doda.

The administration noted that such gatherings could obstruct movement, cause inconvenience to commuters and pedestrians, and escalate into law and order issues if left unchecked.

However, the order exempts events that have already received prior permission from the competent authority.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, has been directed to ensure strict implementation of the order. Violators will face legal action under Section 223 of the BNSS, 2023.

As the notice cannot be served individually to all concerned, the order has been issued ex parte and will be widely publicized through official channels, including the district website, newspapers, and social media platforms.

The restrictions will remain in force for a period of two months from the date of issuance, i.e., May 3, 2026.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and adhere to the directives in the interest of maintaining peace and public safety.
