Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi also paid his respects, highlighting the trio’s struggle against both British colonial rule and social discrimination. “Their fearless struggle and supreme sacrifice against injustice and oppression are an example for every Indian. Bhagat Singh’s fight was not just against British rule but also against casteism and social discrimination. His thoughts on equality and brotherhood will continue to inspire us always,” Gandhi wrote.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X to honour their memory, emphasizing their role in igniting patriotism among the youth. “I pay my humble tribute to Martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on Martyrs’ Day.
