Minga Sherpa on Tuesday presided over a public outreach-cum-grievance redressal camp at the Community Facilitation Centre in Chenani and assured residents that all genuine public issues would be addressed on priority.
The programme was attended by IAS Probationer Shagun Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, district and sectoral officers, former PRI members and a large number of residents from adjoining panchayats.
During the interaction session, locals and former PRI representatives raised several issues related to road connectivity, drinking water supply, healthcare, education and infrastructure development in the region.
Among the major demands highlighted were renovation of the PMGSY road from Nagulta to Razar and other link roads, development of parking facilities, maintenance of Mall Road Kud, issuance of separate ration cards and speedy completion of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes.
Residents also expressed concern over staff shortages in government schools and health institutions and demanded the availability of an ambulance at Sarar. Other demands included construction of a flyover, installation of a mobile tower in the Bupp area, land compensation under PMGSY and promotion of commercial floriculture.
The public also sought operationalization of the International Yoga Centre at Mantalai and better skill development opportunities for youth under Mission YUVA.
Responding to the grievances, the Deputy Commissioner issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments for immediate action and assured the public that all genuine demands would be resolved in a time-bound manner.
Highlighting the importance of public participation, Minga Sherpa also sensitized the residents about Census 2027 and urged them to actively cooperate in the enumeration process.
He further highlighted several flagship government schemes including Mission YUVA, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, HADP and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, emphasizing their importance in promoting socio-economic development and livelihood generation.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the ongoing construction work of the Government Degree College building in the area and reviewed the progress of the project.
