At a government hospital in Poonch, Abdullah interacted with several injured civilians, enquired about their health conditions, and assured them of full administrative support. He later visited the families of those killed in the shelling, including the homes of Amrik Singh and Amarjeet Singh, who both lost their lives in the attacks.

In a similar gesture, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met the family of Zakir Hussain, another civilian casualty of the recent hostilities. Speaking to the media, Sinha said the administration had already extended ex gratia relief to affected families and would continue to provide necessary assistance.

In Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) MP Mian Altaf Ahmed welcomed the India-Pakistan ceasefire understanding and called for job placements for the next of kin of the deceased. He also urged the administration to compensate for damaged houses and expedite relief efforts.

“The situation is improving, but the administration must step up support for the affected families,” he said.

Meanwhile, as part of confidence-building measures, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries are scheduled to hold talks at 12 noon on Monday to further reinforce the agreement.
