Kishtwar Bar Association Suspends Court Work over Killing of Iran Supreme Leader

Jammu, March 2, 2026: The District Bar Association Kishtwar on Sunday suspended routine work in all courts of the district in support of the Kishtwar Bandh called over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

As per a resolution issued by the District Bar Association Kishtwar, the decision was taken in response to the bandh call given by the Imam of Markazi Jamia Masjid, Kishtwar, to mourn the killing of the Iranian Supreme Leader.

The resolution stated that the Bar Association unanimously resolved to suspend routine work in all courts at Kishtwar for the day as a mark of grief and solidarity.

The Bar Association observed that human life is invaluable and that any form of bloodshed or killing is against the principles of humanity and justice. It strongly condemned violence in all its forms.

The Association also appealed to the people of Kishtwar to maintain peace, harmony, brotherhood and to uphold communal unity during the period of mourning.

It was further resolved that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to the Presiding Officers of all Courts, Revenue Courts and the Labour Court with a request that no adverse orders be passed on account of absence of advocates or litigants owing to the observance of the bandh.

The resolution was issued by the District Bar Association Kishtwar and signed by its President.
