The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Wednesday issued a weather advisory forecasting light to moderate rain and thunderstorms across many areas on July 23 and 24.
Several parts of the Jammu Division — including Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, and Kathua — are likely to witness intense rainfall, with the possibility of heavy to very heavy showers in some locations.
Residents have been advised to remain alert due to the risk of flash floods, landslides, and waterlogging in low-lying areas.
Meanwhile, the advisory brings some relief for farmers, who are encouraged to resume agricultural activities between July 25 and 27 as conditions are expected to improve.
The weather is likely to turn hot and humid during this period, with only isolated showers in a few places. Another spell of widespread rain is anticipated between July 28 and 30.
