Jatin Kishore on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to review the progress of Mission YUVA and evaluate loan applications submitted under the scheme in Ganderbal district.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the implementation status of the scheme and discussed measures to strengthen youth employment and entrepreneurship initiatives across the district.
At the outset, Additional District Development Commissioner Manzoor Ahmad briefed the meeting regarding the recruitment status of SBDU/BHD Coordinators and engagement of external trainers. He also presented details about the number of cases sanctioned and disbursed under Mission YUVA so far.
Jatin Kishore directed the concerned officers to expedite the recruitment process for vacant Coordinator posts to ensure effective implementation of the programme at the grassroots level.
He also emphasized increasing the number of external trainers to strengthen skill development and capacity-building initiatives for beneficiaries under the scheme.
To facilitate timely establishment of business ventures by selected applicants, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Lead District Manager to accelerate the sanctioning and disbursement process of approved cases.
The DC further directed the Assistant Director Employment to conduct regular inspections of units established under Mission YUVA for output tracking and monitoring purposes.
He also stressed intensifying awareness activities under Udyam Jagriti 4.0 across colleges and higher secondary institutions to ensure greater participation of youth in self-employment initiatives.
During the meeting, the DLIC carried out a detailed scrutiny of applications received under the scheme by assessing their eligibility, feasibility and employment generation potential.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized transparency, timely processing and inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme and effective support to deserving youth with viable business proposals.
After thorough evaluation, the Committee approved 324 cases, enabling beneficiaries to avail financial and institutional support under Mission YUVA.
Officials were directed to complete all formalities at the earliest to ensure prompt disbursement of assistance to the approved applicants.
The meeting also stressed the need for sustained awareness and outreach campaigns to ensure wider participation of eligible youth in the scheme.
Among others, the meeting was attended by General Manager District Industries Centre, Lead District Manager, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Assistant Director Employment, Nodal Officer JKEDI and other officials.
