Bandipora Police Hosts Faiz-e-Aam Secondary School Students for Educational Visit
Bandipora, 14 April: Bandipora Police today hosted a group of students from Faiz-e-Aam Secondary School for an interactive and educational visit to the Police Station Bandipora. The initiative aimed to provide the students with a firsthand understanding of police operations and foster a positive relationship between law enforcement and the community.
During the visit, the students received an in-depth overview of the police department’s functions, including crime prevention, investigation, and community outreach. A key highlight was a role-playing exercise in which one student assumed the role of Station House Officer (SHO) to experience the challenges and responsibilities of police leadership. Other students were also assigned different policing roles, allowing them to actively participate in various activities and learn about different aspects of police work.
Throughout the day, DySP Headquarters Latief Khan and SHO PS Bandipora Iftikhar Ahmad guided the students, offering valuable insights and explanations. The students were given hands-on experience in traffic management, market inspections, and police station operations, under the supervision of the officers. They learned how to manage traffic flow, enforce traffic laws, and ensure road safety. They also participated in market inspections, gaining knowledge on maintaining order and public safety. Furthermore, they explored the functioning of the police station, including record-keeping, lock-up procedures, and investigation processes.
“This visit was designed to demystify the work of the police and inspire young people to consider careers in law enforcement,” said SSP Bandipora Harmeet Singh Mehta. “By enhancing understanding of our role in the community, we aim to build trust and cooperation.”
The students expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to learn about the police department’s operations. Bandipora Police plans to continue such educational initiatives to strengthen community relations and inspire future generations.
