Jammu/Srinagar, May 19: Petrol and diesel prices witnessed another hike across the country on Tuesday, marking the second increase within a week. Fuel rates have gone up by nearly 90 paise per litre amid rising international crude oil prices and pressure on oil marketing companies.
In Jammu and Kashmir, exact pump prices vary district-wise due to local taxes and transportation costs. Based on recent J&K fuel rates and the latest nationwide hike, petrol in several districts is expected to remain around ₹98–101 per litre, while diesel may range between ₹84–88 per litre after today’s revision.
This is the second fuel price increase in less than a week after oil companies had earlier raised rates by ₹3 per litre. Officials have linked the revisions to rising global crude prices and mounting losses faced by oil marketing companies.
