Amid rising political speculation under the so-called ‘Operation Tiger’, six Shiv Sena (UBT) Lok Sabha MPs skipped a crucial parliamentary party meeting held in New Delhi on Thursday, triggering a fresh internal crisis within the party.

Only four MPs attended the meeting, including Arvind Sawant, Anil Desai, Rajabhau Waje, and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut. The absent MPs have been identified as Nagesh Aashtikar, Sanjay Deshmukh, Sanjay Jadhav, Sanjay Dina Patil, Omprakash Rajenimbalkar, and Bhausaheb Wakchaure.

Party leaders confirmed that a whip had been issued ahead of the meeting, and disciplinary action is now being initiated. Senior leader Anil Desai stated that show cause notices will be issued to the absent MPs and action will be taken as per party rules.

Sanjay Raut and Arvind Sawant strongly reacted to the developments, stating that strict action would follow against those violating party discipline. Raut also said a “lesson needs to be taught” to those who are allegedly attempting to defect.

‘Operation Tiger’ is being used informally to describe speculation that some Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs may switch allegiance to the Eknath Shinde-led faction. Reports of internal dissatisfaction, leadership disputes, and alleged coordination with rival camps have further intensified the political tension.

The party has issued a three-line whip and called for an emergency meeting to ensure attendance and accountability. Leaders have also indicated that further disciplinary measures will be taken after consultation with party chief Uddhav Thackeray.

Meanwhile, counter-allegations have surfaced from the Thackeray camp, accusing rebels of betrayal and external influence. Senior leaders have also hinted at expanding political outreach in constituencies of the absent MPs.

The situation continues to develop as both factions escalate their political messaging amid growing uncertainty within Shiv Sena (UBT).
