POONCH, MAY 10: The District Administration Poonch and Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday organised a friendly cricket match at the Sports Stadium under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to promote fitness, sportsmanship and awareness against drug abuse.
The match, played between DC XI and SSP XI, witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, officials and spectators. Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma and SSP Shafqat Hussain Bhat also participated in the match, encouraging youth to adopt healthy and disciplined lifestyles.
Batting first, SSP XI posted a total of 149 runs in 20 overs. In response, DC XI successfully chased the target and registered an impressive seven-wicket victory.
Dr. Jontay was declared the Man of the Match for his outstanding innings of 56 runs, while Pervaiz Malik Afridi contributed 46 runs and Pawan Kumar added 27 runs to help DC XI secure the win.
The programme concluded with a strong message promoting a drug-free society: “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.”
