Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), the ARTO Kishtwar, Sh. Tasleem Wani (JKAS), initiated decisive measures following detailed recommendations received from District Police Kishtwar—reflecting strong inter-departmental coordination to curb narcotics menace.

As per official details, the action is linked to FIR No. 100/2026 registered at Police Station Kishtwar under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.

Based on the police report, the driving licence of the accused, Junaid Ramzan Butt, resident of Nagbatna Kuntwara, has been formally disqualified, barring him from operating any motor vehicle. The move underscores strict enforcement of legal provisions against individuals involved in drug-related crimes.

Further tightening the noose, the Registration Certificate (RC) of vehicle bearing No. JK17B-7786—allegedly used in the commission of the offence—has also been suspended, ensuring that the vehicle cannot be used pending legal proceedings.

Officials stated that such actions form part of a broader strategy to dismantle the support systems enabling narcotics trade. The Transport Department, in close coordination with law enforcement agencies, is committed to ensuring that offenders face both legal and administrative consequences.

Reiterating a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking, the District Administration Kishtwar has urged citizens to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities, emphasizing that the fight against drugs requires collective public participation.
