Ultra High-Density Apple Cultivation Gets Boost Under HADP in Kishtwar

ADDC inspects UHDP orchards, stresses technical support for farmers adopting modern horticulture practices

Kishtwar, May 08: Ultra High-Density Plantation (UHDP) apple cultivation is gaining momentum in Kishtwar district under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), with farmers increasingly adopting modern horticulture practices to enhance productivity and fruit quality.

Additional District Development Commissioner Vinod Kumar Behnal today inspected UHDP apple orchards in Sangrambhata and Chehrar areas to assess the progress of modern cultivation techniques being implemented by local orchardists.

During the visit, the ADDC interacted with orchard owners and appreciated their efforts in adopting advanced horticulture methods aimed at increasing yield and improving the quality of apples.

Chief Horticulture Officer Sajid Mustafa briefed the ADDC about the advantages of Ultra High-Density Plantation, including higher productivity, efficient land utilization, early fruit bearing and better orchard management practices.

The ADDC directed the concerned officers to provide all necessary technical guidance and support to farmers for successful implementation of UHDP projects under the HADP scheme across the district.

The inspection was also attended by Horticulture Development Officer Neeraj Kumar and other officials of the Horticulture Department.
