Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ahead of the proposed expansion of the Union Territory’s Council of Ministers.
During the meeting, Omar Abdullah reportedly requested the Lieutenant Governor to schedule the cabinet expansion within the first two to three days of next week. He also indicated that the list of ministers had been finalised following consultations with National Conference president Farooq Abdullah.
The proposed expansion is expected to bring changes to the composition of the Council of Ministers in Jammu and Kashmir. Omar Abdullah has also urged party colleagues and MLAs seeking ministerial positions to refrain from lobbying, indicating that the decisions regarding the expansion have already been taken.
