Ramban, October 1: At least 25 passengers were injured after a sleeper bus overturned on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The accident reportedly occurred when the bus was travelling along the highway, leaving several passengers injured. Following the incident, police and emergency personnel reached the spot and initiated rescue and relief operations.
The injured were shifted to nearby healthcare facilities for medical treatment. The condition of those injured was not immediately known.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the bus overturning. Traffic movement on the highway was also affected during the rescue operation and removal of the damaged vehicle.
The Jammu-Srinagar Highway is a vital road link connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country and has witnessed accidents at various stretches due to difficult terrain, weather conditions and heavy traffic.
