Jammu Jan 1: Senior Zonal Youth Vice President Chenab Valley, Advocate Er. The meeting was attended by staunch party worker Ankush Langer and Saqib Kichloo, nephew of Rajya Sabha MP Sajjad Kichloo. During the interaction, the delegation highlighted several pressing issues affecting the people at the grassroots level.

Former Minister and Ex-Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmed Gurezi patiently listened to the concerns raised by the youth leaders and assured them that all genuine issues discussed during the meeting would be taken up at the appropriate level for speedy redressal.

The meeting came a day after Advocate Er. Sparsh Parihar’s interaction with MP Aga Rahullah, reflecting continuous efforts by youth leadership from Chenab Valley to project regional concerns before senior party leaders.

The youth leaders strongly urged the leadership to address public issues on priority, especially the ongoing water crisis in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas, which has caused severe inconvenience to the residents.

Parihar also stressed the need to engage local unemployed youth in various projects being executed in Kishtwar district and appealed to the party leadership to take up the matter with project management authorities. He further expressed concern over increasing environmental violations in the district by project executing agencies and road construction companies, calling for strict monitoring and compliance with environmental norms.

It is pertinent to mention that since the formation of the Omar Abdullah-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir in 2024, no minister has visited Kishtwar district, leading to resentment among party workers and the general public. Even Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has not visited Kishtwar for any public or party workers’ meeting so far. Although he visited the district after the Padder cloudburst, the visit remained confined to the affected area without any public interaction or organisational meeting.

The youth leaders expressed hope that the party leadership would take note of these concerns and ensure greater political engagement and administrative attention towards Kishtwar district.
