Sanjeev Verma Attends SVEEP Awareness Programme at GDC Purmandal

Samba, May 08: A comprehensive Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme was organised today at Government Degree College Purmandal in Vijaypur subdivision of Samba district to promote voter awareness and encourage greater electoral participation.

Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir Sanjeev Verma attended the programme as the chief guest.

The event witnessed participation from officers and officials associated with the electoral process, including EROs, AEROs and BLOs of Samba district. Representatives of recognised political parties, students and local residents also attended the awareness session.

During the programme, students of Government Degree College Purmandal delivered speeches highlighting the importance of voting and democratic participation. A Nukkad Natak was also presented by local artists to spread awareness regarding electoral rights, ethical voting and the significance of active participation in elections.

Voter ID cards were distributed among newly registered young voters who recently became eligible to vote, encouraging them to actively participate in the democratic process.

Addressing the gathering, Sanjeev Verma stressed the importance of voter awareness and increased participation in elections. He urged youth and citizens to contribute towards strengthening democracy through informed and ethical voting practices.

The programme formed part of the ongoing SVEEP campaign aimed at enhancing voter education and electoral participation across Jammu and Kashmir.
