DC Ganderbal Reviews Eid-ul-Adha Arrangements Across District

Jatin Kishore directs departments to ensure seamless public services, sanitation and essential supplies

Ganderbal, May 08: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore today chaired a meeting to review arrangements being put in place across the district for the smooth and peaceful observance of Eid-ul-Adha.

The meeting discussed arrangements related to security, transport, sanitation, uninterrupted water and electricity supply, healthcare services, availability of essential commodities and market checking drives to facilitate hassle-free celebrations during the festival.

The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to ensure smooth transport services on all major routes during Eid days. Municipal authorities were instructed to carry out comprehensive sanitation drives around mosques, shrines and Eidgahs in coordination with local committees.

The Health Department was directed to keep ambulances and medical teams available at major congregation points, while the Power Development Department and Jal Shakti Department were asked to ensure uninterrupted services during the festival period.

The Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments were instructed to ensure adequate availability of poultry and sacrificial animals at notified locations and approved rates for public convenience. Directions were also issued regarding proper disposal and management of animal waste to maintain hygiene and cleanliness.

Emphasising strict market regulation, Jatin Kishore directed joint market checking teams comprising officials from Revenue, Food Safety, FCS&CA, Municipal Council, Legal Metrology and Police departments to intensify inspections to ensure quality and fair pricing of essential commodities, including mutton, poultry, vegetables, fruits, bakery and confectionery items.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed close coordination among all departments and directed officers to remain available on the ground to address public concerns promptly and ensure smooth celebration of Eid-ul-Adha across the district.

The meeting was attended by ADC Syed Faheem Bihaqi, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Executive Engineer KPDCL, Tehsildars, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, officers from Jal Shakti Department, Police and other line departments.
