Following the Pahalgam terror attack and daily ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistani operatives have shifted focus to publicly accessible welfare and educational websites, after failing to penetrate India’s mission-critical networks. According to intelligence sources, the group identified as “IOK Hacker” (Internet of Khilafah) attempted to deface web pages, disrupt services, and extract personal data.

India’s layered cybersecurity defences detected and neutralised four related incidents in real-time. Targets included the websites of Army Public School (APS) Srinagar and APS Ranikhet, which were hit with inflammatory propaganda, while APS Srinagar also faced a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. In addition, an attempted breach of the Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) database and the Indian Air Force Placement Organisation portal was foiled.

All affected platforms were promptly isolated, with remedial actions undertaken. No classified or operational networks were compromised, underscoring the resilience and preparedness of India’s cyber architecture. The Indian Army continues to bolster its cybersecurity posture to safeguard sensitive digital domains and the welfare of its personnel.

Meanwhile, on-ground tensions persist as the Indian Army responded effectively to unprovoked small arms fire from Pakistani forces across the LoC during the night of April 28–29. Firing was reported in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Akhnoor sector in Jammu and Kashmir. This marks the fifth consecutive day of Indian retaliation to ceasefire violations initiated on the night of April 25–26.

The latest escalation comes amid heightened security across the Kashmir Valley following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. Security forces have intensified anti-terror operations across the region in response.
