Jammu, Apr 20, 2026:
At least 15 persons were killed and 16 others injured after a passenger bus met with a tragic accident near the Jalo area on the Ramnagar–Udhampur route on Monday.
According to officials, the bus was traveling from Ramnagar to Udhampur when it met with the accident under unclear circumstances.
“A total of fifteen people have lost their lives, while sixteen others have sustained injuries and have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Rescue teams are on the spot,” a senior police officer said.
Police, along with local administration and rescue teams, have launched a massive rescue operation and are evacuating the injured to nearby medical facilities.
Senior officers, including Shiv Kumar Sharma, have reached the site to oversee the ongoing rescue and relief efforts.
