BANIHAL, Jan 27: Four persons lost their lives in a major road accident near Sharda Mata on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur district on Tuesday.
According to reports, a bus travelling towards Udhampur, allegedly at high speed, first struck a motorcycle near the accident site. The collision was fatal for both the rider and the pillion rider, who died on the spot.
Moments later, the same bus hit two mechanics who were repairing a Mahindra load carrier parked along the roadside. Both mechanics sustained critical injuries and died instantly.
Police reached the spot soon after the incident and initiated legal formalities. The bodies were shifted for medico-legal procedures, while further details are awaited. (Agencies)
