Ganderbal, May 5: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Ganderbal organized a series of sports and awareness activities across the district under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, intensifying efforts to combat drug abuse among youth.

The programme was conducted across all four zones—Kangan, Ganderbal, Hariganwan, and Tulmullah—and featured volleyball and kabaddi competitions alongside awareness rallies aimed at promoting fitness and educating young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse.

Students from various educational institutions participated with enthusiasm, showcasing team spirit, discipline, and a strong commitment to adopting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

District Youth Services and Sports Officer Ganderbal, Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal, lauded the active involvement of students and appreciated the dedicated efforts of field staff in successfully organizing the events. He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial in raising awareness and guiding youth towards positive and constructive engagements.

The programme concluded on a successful note, reinforcing the message of fitness, awareness, and collective responsibility in building a drug-free society across the district.
