Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the closing ceremony of the 11th Mega Eye Surgical Camp under Operation Drishti in Srinagar, highlighting the Indian Army and Armed Forces Medical Services’ efforts to restore vision among people across the region.
Sinha said 364 vision-restoring surgeries were performed across Srinagar and Tangdhar in Kupwara during the latest camp. He also recalled the 10th Mega Eye Surgical Camp at Tangdhar as the first-ever border camp under the initiative, conducted amid challenging terrain.
According to the LG, Operation Drishti has so far screened more than 1.5 lakh people nationwide and facilitated over 3,500 surgeries. He praised the Indian Army’s commitment to improving access to eye care and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for the initiative.
