MVD Ramban Conducts Enforcement Drive in Gool-Sangaldan Areas

11 vehicles e-challaned, three seized during road safety enforcement operation

Ramban, May 08: The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Ramban conducted a special enforcement drive across Gool, Sangaldan and Thatharka areas to check violations of traffic regulations and strengthen road safety measures.

During the drive, more than 65 vehicles were inspected, out of which 11 vehicles were e-challaned for violations under different provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The expected penalty amount from the violations stands at approximately Rs 2,15,500.

Officials also seized three vehicles and recommended suspension of one driving licence during the enforcement operation.

The major offences detected during the drive included overloading, driving without a valid licence, expired fitness certificates, expired insurance documents and non-availability of valid Pollution Under Control Certificates (PUCC).

Officials from the Motor Vehicles Department sensitised drivers and vehicle operators about the importance of following traffic regulations and warned that strict action, including seizure of vehicles and suspension or cancellation of licences, registration certificates and route permits, would be taken against violators, especially those involved in overloading.

Drivers were also made aware about the dangers of driving under the influence of intoxicants and were encouraged to support the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan by contributing towards a safer and drug-free society.
