DYSS Organises Awareness Campaigns, Sports Activities Across Udhampur Under NMBA

Students participate in sports competitions and pledge ceremonies promoting drug-free society

Udhampur, May 08: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Udhampur continued its activities under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan by organising awareness campaigns, pledge ceremonies and sports competitions across various zones of the district.

The activities were conducted under the aegis of Mini Olympics with active participation from students, teachers and sports field staff, who also took a solemn pledge to collectively work towards building a drug-free society.

A variety of sports competitions including athletics, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho, chess and yoga were organised in different zones, witnessing enthusiastic participation from boys and girls in Under-14 and Under-17 categories.

Awareness rallies and motivational sessions were also held to encourage students to stay away from drugs and adopt sports and healthy activities as a way of life.

In Zone Babey, a pledge ceremony was organised where students and sports field staff participated actively. Zone Panchari organised inter-school zonal-level athletics competitions at local Government Higher Secondary School and Government High School Dubigali with large participation from students.

Similar anti-drug awareness and sports activities were also organised in Ramnagar and Majalta zones as part of the district-wide campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The initiatives are aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles among youth and strengthening awareness against substance abuse across Udhampur district.
