Driving Licence Disqualified; One Bus and One Cab Seized During Special Checking on Dool Road
Kishtwar, November 4: In a major road safety enforcement drive, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Kishtwar, in collaboration with District Police Kishtwar, conducted a joint operation on Dool Road to crack down on drunken driving and driving under the influence of drugs.
The drive was carried out on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), under the supervision of ARTO Kishtwar Tasleem Wani (JKAS). The police team was led by PSI Rahul Sharma, In-charge Police Post Dool.
During the special checking, officials deployed breath analysers to detect alcohol consumption among drivers, while rapid drug testing kits were also used to identify suspected cases of drug-impaired driving.
During the operation, one driver was booked under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act for drunken driving, and his driving licence was disqualified. Additionally, one bus and one cab were seized for various traffic violations.
Officials also sensitised drivers about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, warning that such irresponsible behaviour endangers not only the driver but also passengers and other road users.
The authorities reiterated their commitment to conducting more such joint enforcement drives to strengthen traffic discipline, prevent substance-impaired driving and ensure safer roads across Kishtwar district.
