J&K Awami National Conference Senior Vice President Muzaffar Shah on Thursday urged the government to immediately release all individuals who have been held without trial for years.

“Thousands continue to remain behind bars without due process. It is high time the government shows its commitment to justice by ensuring their release,” Shah said.

He urged the administration to adopt a transparent, accountable, and humane approach to governance, cautioning that continued silence on such serious issues would only erode public trust.

According to Media, Muzaffar Shah described the actions taken in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attacks as “premature and unjustified,” alleging that they were executed “in haste to deflect public anger and create an illusion of prompt action.”
