National Conference leader and MLA Banihal, Mr. Sajjad Shaheen, today laid the foundation stones for three major developmental projects in the Khari area aimed at strengthening road connectivity and upgrading educational infrastructure in the constituency. The projects, to be executed at an estimated cost of ₹5.4 crores, mark another significant step towards accelerating development in Banihal-Gool constituency.
The projects inaugurated include:
Construction of Motorable Bridge on Nachalana–Khari–Mandakbass Road at Km 3rd Rd 150-200.
Construction of Bridge at Km 3rd Rd 900-925.
Modernization and Upgradation of Higher Secondary School Khari.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion at Kumbla, MLA Sajjad Shaheen reiterated his commitment towards inclusive and people-centric development across Banihal-Gool constituency.
He stated that improving road connectivity, strengthening educational institutions, and enhancing healthcare facilities remain among the top priorities of his public service agenda.
Highlighting the transformation taking place in the education sector, the MLA said that a digital revolution has been initiated in schools across the constituency, with all Higher Secondary and High Schools in Banihal-Gool being provided with digital smart boards to ensure modern and quality education for students. He added that infrastructure in most educational institutions is being upgraded to provide dignified and better learning facilities to students in remote areas.
Mr. Shaheen termed the passage of the University Campus Establishment Bill as a historic milestone for the region, stating that it would play a transformative role in expanding access to higher education and fulfilling the long-pending aspirations of the youth by bringing university-level education closer to the doorsteps of the people.
The MLA further informed that around 52 new roads and nearly two dozen bridges have been sanctioned in Banihal-Gool constituency during the last one and a half years, reflecting the pace of developmental activities being undertaken in the area.
Speaking on healthcare, Mr. Shaheen said that medical infrastructure is being strengthened in all hospitals across the constituency. He announced that much-needed Dialysis facilities will soon become operational at SDH Banihal and SDH Gool, which will greatly benefit patients suffering from kidney-related ailments and reduce their dependence on outside districts for treatment.
He also stated that several major developmental projects are currently in the pipeline and work on them will commence shortly, further accelerating progress and improving public amenities in the constituency.
The MLA emphasized that the trust and support of the people continue to motivate him to work tirelessly for the development and welfare of Banihal-Gool and assured that every effort would be made to ensure balanced and sustainable growth in all sectors.
