A low-intensity earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday afternoon, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported. The tremor, recorded at 1:41 pm, had its epicenter in Kupwara at coordinates 34.68°N latitude and 74.39°E longitude, at a shallow depth of 5 kilometers. Officials confirmed that no damage to property or loss of life was reported in the aftermath of the quake.
