The inspection comes as the Maharashtra FDA has intensified its statewide monitoring and crackdown on adulterated and substandard festive food products during the Diwali season.

Under the intensified food-safety drive, sweets, snacks, edible oils, spices and other commonly used festive products are being placed under increased scrutiny to prevent the sale of unsafe or adulterated items.

The FDA’s inspection campaign aims to protect consumers from potentially harmful food products and ensure that traders follow the required food safety regulations.

Officials have emphasised that manufacturers and sellers must maintain proper hygiene, use quality ingredients and comply with food safety standards. Consumers are also being encouraged to remain cautious while purchasing festive food items.

With Diwali approaching, the Maharashtra FDA is stepping up its efforts to ensure that people can celebrate the festival with safe, hygienic and quality food products.
