Kishtwar June 05, 2026: Intensifying its crackdown on narcotics trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, District Police Kishtwar has attached a residential property worth approximately ₹53.12 lakh under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985, in a major action aimed at dismantling the financial backbone of drug networks.
According to police, the attachment follows a detailed financial investigation conducted in connection with FIR No. 77/2026 and FIR No. 90/2026 registered at Police Station Kishtwar under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act against accused siblings Muzaffer Hussain S/o Mehraj-ud-Din and Mudassir Hussain S/o Mehraj-ud-Din, both residents of Om Mehta Road, Kishtwar.
During the investigation, police reportedly established that a residential house measuring 06 marlas under Khasra No. 5586/1127 had allegedly been acquired through proceeds generated from illicit narcotic drug trafficking. Acting on the findings, Kishtwar Police initiated attachment proceedings in accordance with the provisions of the NDPS Act.
The attachment proceedings were carried out by a team led by the SHO Police Station Kishtwar along with an Executive Magistrate under the supervision of the DySP Headquarters Kishtwar.
SSP Kishtwar Naresh Singh stated that under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Kishtwar Police remains committed to dismantling the financial networks of drug traffickers by targeting illegally acquired assets and proceeds generated through narcotics-related crimes. He emphasized that strict legal action shall continue against all persons involved in drug trafficking and related unlawful activities.
The SSP further appealed to the general public to cooperate with the police and share information regarding drug trafficking and other illegal activities. He reiterated that Kishtwar Police remains steadfast in its commitment to making the district drug-free and ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
The latest action is part of Kishtwar Police’s sustained campaign against narcotics, focusing not only on the arrest of drug traffickers but also on identifying and attaching assets allegedly acquired through the proceeds of the illegal drug trade.
