On 12-01-2026, during routine patrolling and checking in the Haynan area of Marwah, a police party from Police Station Marwah, led by SHO PS Marwah SI Lal Hussain and PSI Sandeep Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Marwah Sh. Ravinder Singh, intercepted a vehicle bearing Registration No. JK19-2399 (Alto-800). The vehicle was being driven by Juneed Ahmad S/o Shabir Ahmed Wagay R/o Chanjer Marwah. Upon search, approximately 25 grams of heroin-like (chitta) narcotic substance was recovered from his possession, leading to his arrest on the spot.

Accordingly, FIR No. 01/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, dated 12-01-2026, was registered at Police Station Marwah. At the time of the arrest, SSP Kishtwar Sh. Naresh Singh–JKPS had stated that District Police Kishtwar follows a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and would continue its relentless action against those involved in the drug trade.

As part of the earlier action in the case, the driving licence of the accused driver Juneed Ahmad (DL No. JK17 20170000641) had been cancelled, and the vehicle involved along with its Registration Certificate bearing Registration No. JK19-2399 had been blacklisted, in accordance with law.

During the ongoing investigation, the police have now arrested the supplier of the contraband, identified as Muzamil Nabi S/o Ghulam Mohammad Lone R/o Tiller Marwah, in the same case under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act, thereby further unraveling the supply chain operating in the area.

District Police Kishtwar has reiterated its commitment to intensifying operations against drug peddlers, suppliers, and facilitators, and has once again appealed to the public, particularly the youth, to stay away from drugs and cooperate with the police by sharing information related to drug trafficking, assuring complete confidentiality of informants.
