Kishtwar Man Held with Heroin-Like Substance in Nagrota; Jammu Rural Police Crack Down on Drug Peddling

Jammu, June 13, 2026: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, Jammu (Rural) Police apprehended a suspected drug peddler and recovered a heroin-like substance from his possession in the Nagrota area.

According to police, a team from Police Post Sidhra was on routine patrolling duty near the NIA Office at Sidhra on June 13 when they intercepted a scooty (JK02CV-2638) for checking. During the inspection, the rider allegedly became suspicious and attempted to flee after noticing the police party.

The police team swiftly apprehended the suspect, who identified himself as Momin Mansoor, son of Mansoor Ahmed, a resident of Kishtwar presently residing at Bathindi.

During his personal search, police recovered 15.16 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.

A case under FIR No. 152/2026 has been registered at Police Station Nagrota under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is in progress.

Jammu (Rural) Police reiterated its commitment to combating the drug menace and appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in making society drug-free.
