The Indian Army on Monday continued its anti-terror operation in the general area of Dul, Kishtwar, where gunfire was exchanged with terrorists during an intelligence-based operation on August 10.
While live details remain unavailable, deferred visuals showed soldiers maintaining guard a day after contact was established with the terrorists.
In a post on X, the Army’s White Knight Corps said:
“Contact with terrorists… Indian Army troops, while carrying out an intelligence-based operation, have established contact with terrorists in the general area of Dul in Kishtwar in the early hours of 10 Aug 2025. Gunfire exchanged. Operation under progress.”
The encounter follows the killing of two soldiers — Lance Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh — during an operation in Kulgam a day earlier. The Chinar Corps paid tribute, lauding their courage and dedication, and expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
Separately, one terrorist was neutralised last week in an ongoing Kulgam encounter in the Akhal area, involving the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and SOG. The gunfight has seen intermittent and intense firing, with security forces tightening the cordon.
