Srinagar, May 5: Khurshid Ahmad Shah on Monday assumed charge as Vice Chairman of the Jammu & Kashmir Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (JKLCMA) at its Dockyard Office, Nishat, Srinagar.
Soon after taking charge, he convened an introductory meeting with officers of the Authority to review ongoing works and assess priority areas related to lake conservation and management in the region.
The meeting was attended by all officers of JKLCMA, who briefed the Vice Chairman on various ongoing projects and operational activities being undertaken by the Authority.
During the meeting, Shah emphasized the importance of protecting and preserving the fragile lake ecosystems of Jammu and Kashmir. He called for coordinated and result-oriented efforts to ensure effective implementation of conservation measures.
He also stressed timely execution of projects and improved efficiency in addressing environmental challenges affecting water bodies in the Union Territory.
