Police Attach Properties of Two LeT Terror Handlers in Sopore’s Brath Kalan
Sopore, April 9: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday attached land properties belonging to two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists/handlers in the Brath Kalan area of Sopore, as part of ongoing action against individuals involved in militancy-related activities.
According to a police spokesperson, the attached property comprises seven marlas of land owned by Bilal Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Hamza Mir, and Mohammad Umar Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir—both residents of Brath Kalan, Sopore.
The action is linked to FIR No. 202/2022 under sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and 18, 20, 23, 38 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and FIR No. 251/2022 under sections 4/5 of the Explosive Substances Act, 7/25 Arms Act, and relevant sections of the UAPA, registered at Police Station Sopore.
The property attachment was carried out under Sections 82 and 83 of the CrPC by a joint team of Sopore Police and Revenue Department officials, following approval from the competent authority.
Police officials stated that the move represents a significant development in the crackdown on terrorism and is part of the broader strategy to dismantle the logistical and financial support structures of militant operatives. The action reflects Sopore Police’s firm resolve to uphold peace and national security in the region.
