Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised the Indian Armed Forces for their humanitarian service during the closing ceremony of the four-day mega eye camp ‘Op Drishti’ at Command Hospital, Northern Command, Udhampur.
The camp was organised by Command Hospital, Northern Command, in collaboration with the surgical team from Army Hospital Research & Referral, New Delhi, under the aegis of HQ Northern Command and Armed Forces Medical Services. More than 2,000 people from remote areas of Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar and Ramban were screened, while over 400 surgeries were performed.
LG Sinha commended the Northern Command, Armed Forces Medical Services and the medical teams for providing advanced eye-care services and setting an example of humanitarian service. He also distributed eyeglasses to beneficiaries and felicitated the surgical team from Army Hospital Research & Referral, New Delhi.
The initiative brought specialised eye-care services closer to veterans, Veer Naris and civilians, particularly those from remote parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
