Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has married senior journalist Nidhi Razdan in a private ceremony held on October 30, 2026. The couple announced the news on social media on Saturday, October 31, sharing photographs together and confirming the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
Omar Abdullah shared four photographs with Nidhi Razdan on social media, writing, “A new journey began yesterday,” while tagging her in the post. Nidhi Razdan also shared the same photographs and responded with the message, “It’s done bro,” accompanied by a ring emoji.
According to reports, the wedding ceremony was held in the presence of close family members and relatives in Srinagar. The celebrations were attended by Omar Abdullah’s parents, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and Mollie Abdullah, along with his sisters and other relatives. Nidhi Razdan’s parents, veteran journalist M.K. Razdan and Sarla Razdan, were also present.
The marriage comes nearly three months after the Supreme Court formally dissolved Omar Abdullah’s previous marriage to Payal Abdullah in July 2026, following a settlement between the estranged couple. Omar and Payal, who married in 1994, have two sons, Zahir and Zamir. They had been living separately since 2009.
Nidhi Razdan, 49, is a well-known Indian journalist who has worked with NDTV and covered national politics and major current affairs developments.
The announcement has attracted widespread attention, with political leaders, public figures and social media users extending congratulations to the couple on their new beginning.
