Srinagar, September 21: The seven-sitting Autumn Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly began on Monday in Srinagar, with employment, reservation, power issues, governance and restoration of statehood among the major issues expected to dominate proceedings.
The opening session began with obituary references to former legislators Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Dharam Paul and Ghulam Hassan Khan, followed by Question Hour. A House Committee report on alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission is also scheduled to be tabled.
Opposition members have indicated that they will raise issues including NHM employees, job outsourcing, electricity tariffs and reservation policy. The session is scheduled to continue until September 30.
